Video Agent Guide

Learn how to turn an idea into a fully produced video in minutes.

What is Video Agent?

Video Agent is VidFab's end-to-end AI workflow. Give it a story idea — typed from scratch or remixed from a YouTube Shorts clip — and it returns a finished video with characters, storyboards, motion, and music. No timeline editing required.

Two ways to start

Pick whichever fits — both end up in the same generation pipeline.

Create by reference

Recommended
  1. 1.
    Paste a YouTube Shorts link

Use a public Shorts video under 1 minute. Non-dialogue clips with clear scenes work best.

  2. 2.
    Pick a visual style

Realistic, Anime, 3D Animation, Cinematic — your style sets the look of every character and shot.

  3. 3.
    Toggle background music

Off = silent (default, saves credits). On = Seedance native audio (costs 2× credits).

  4. 4.
    Click Analyze Video

AI extracts the story beats and drops you into the editor for script review.

Create by myself

  1. 1.
Write your story (or hit AI Inspiration)

Type freely or click AI Inspiration for ready-made story seeds you can edit.

  2. 2.
Tune duration, style, aspect ratio, music

Duration impacts shot count and credits. Aspect 9:16 fits Shorts, 16:9 fits landscape.

  3. 3.
    Click Generate Video

Your project enters the same automated pipeline below.

Behind the scenes

4 automated stages run sequentially. You can review and regenerate any stage.

Script Analysis

AI breaks your story into shots, characters, and pacing. Edit anything before moving on.

Character Generation

Each character gets a consistent visual identity that carries through every shot.

Storyboard

Per-shot still images with mood, camera angle, and characters in place. Regenerate any shot you don't like.

Video Composition

Each storyboard becomes a moving clip; clips are stitched into a final video with the music you chose.

Good to know

  • Drafts auto-save while you work. Open "Your Drafts" from the quota row to resume.
  • Free plan: 5 scripts per month. After that, each script costs 3 credits.
  • A full video typically takes 5–15 minutes to generate. You can leave the page; status persists.
  • You can edit the script after analysis but before character generation starts.
